Our big 8-year-old Big Bee and 4-year-old Middle Bee are behind the lens on this Wordless Wednesday pictorial tour of our trip to yummy Anna's Pizzeria in downtown Apex, NC.
If you are looking for something to do in North Carolina this weekend don't miss the..
You may remember an episode of Curious George when there is a spectacular worm race where the little monkey joins in on the fun.
Our Little Bees had their own Great Worm Race with "Grade A" worms from Daddy Bee's new vegetable garden.
Watch this Mommy Message TV exclusive as Speedy, Slow Poke, Black Nose, and Red Tail go squirm to squirm for the glory of being the fastest worm on the block. Don't miss the surprise ending.
There is something about getting your hair done that just makes everything right in the world. I know it sounds ridiculous and even a little shallow. O.K. maybe a lot shallow, but you have to understand I am the heir to a hair dynasty....
Not dynasty like Blake Carrington Dynasty, but my own Mom was all about some hair salon therapy. For her it was more religion than anything else...
While readying the lunch boxes for school departure, I marveled at the stillness and quiet of the house when everyone is still snoozing. Then I heard a thud and the pitter patter of Little Bee feet.
I assumed his older brother had sprung him from his crib, but when I went upstairs we had a loose toddler, and big brother still sawing logs. Snap! Did he just do what I think he did? Surely not!...
Do you remember the jelly bracelets from the 80's? I do. I had them in hot pink and black. Madonna even wore them in some of her videos. I really wasn't suppose to watch Madonna, especially the "Like a Virgin" video, but MTV was the new frontier and jelly bracelets were all the rage. That and some lace gloves with the fingers cut out and, oh yes, remember jelly shoes?
Right now another jelly bracelet is taking the world by storm....
You know sometimes you have these amazing friends. They probably live right around the corner or down the street and maybe in the next neighborhood, but you never seem to be able to get together.
Life is always so busy.
You know your friends are there tucked away in their home down the lane and that gives you comfort. When they call to tell you they are moving to Prague for two years, you then realize, "Oh no! We were suppose to get together more!"
I am a people lover. I have always enjoyed getting to know people in a variety of settings whether it's school, work, church, or travel. Since my childhood, people fascinate me with their stories, their intricacies, and their unique qualities.
For me there is great enjoyment in hearing other people's stories and learning about their points of view, and sometimes through my work telling a small chapter of their lives.
But when people are just plain rude, it is hard to be amused. When they are rude to my children, well, you can just bet all the above warm fuzzy magic goes right out the window. You might have noticed it flying by at around 4:30 this afternoon....
Maybe you have heard about fruit or juice fasting and wondered if you might give it a try. You hear about the benefits both physically and spiritually.
So when we stumbled upon a book at Whole Foods about a Fruit Flush 3 Day Detox it sounded like it might be a good thing to try the week leading up to Easter and maybe lose a few pounds as well.
Drum roll please....it's our first Mommy Message TV Skype interview.
Recently Mommy Message told you about a nifty new app for the iPhone or iPod Touch called Tales2Go that allows parents to have audio storybooks at their fingertips anytime, anywhere for their kids to enjoy.
We had a great time on our Mommy Message video interview with Tales2Go co-founder Tracey Weil via Skype. Tracey along with her husband William started the Tales2Go company after seeing a need to find quality audio books for their own three children. In our interview Tracey talks about the inspiration and the features of Tales2Go.
(Our interview fell during spring break for our kiddos, so my Middle Bee who had been working on a craft during the interview decided instead to build towers with plastic water bottles. The sound effects follow. Even on Mommy Message TV, anything can happen when it is live and probably more so when you throw kiddos into the mix. I really needed to have Tales2Go on for my little man. Why didn't I think of that?)
This is a really fun recipe. We made these Easter Rolls, also called Resurrection Rolls, with the kids this week. They were easy and great fun for the kids to make with their little hands.
The marshmallow represents Jesus and the roll the tomb. After it bakes, the marshmallow melts and leaves an empty tomb. The spices represent the anointing spices used for burial.
Many friends have told me they make these rolls on Easter morning. Enjoy!
